SUBJECT VISION
The Early Years curriculum is an ambitious vocational qualifications designed to ensure our students are Resilient, Innovative, Mindful and Employable.

The BTEC qualifications are developed in collaboration with over 5,000 universities, employers and professional bodies with employability at the heart, so our learners will develop the skills and confidence they will need to step into their future.

With combined assessment styles of both academic writing and external exams, the qualifications support or students to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and understanding through work-related contexts.

How does this subject develop the whole child?

Contribution to RSE/LIMB/Pledge
P1 - Be prepared for life post-sixth form with a final destination of either university, apprenticeship or place of employment with at least 3 Level 3 qualifications.
P3 - Has conducted at least one week's work experience.
P16 - Be confident in making telephone calls an appointments for themselves.

Cultural Capital Development
Opportunities to develop work experience skills within the required 50 hours.

Cross Curricular Links and Projects
Strong links to the Health and Social Care provision, particularly with Theories of Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Social Development. Links to Psychology with development of the brain.

Opportunities to develop your Leadership Skills through this subject
Workplace opportunities throughout year 12 and 13 as the course requires students to complete at least 50 hours of work experience within a range of different early years settings. Work placement must also cover three different age groups from birth to 7 years 11 months.
