SUBJECT VISION
Here at Kingsmead, we believe that Media is so much more than just looking at media products. Media is about exploring different platforms, texts and products and understanding how and why they are created, what effect they have on society and using these to widen our cultural capital of the students. Students can explore media products they might otherwise not have access too or studied before, like newspapers and Brexit. As part of our study here at Kingsmead we want to develop your child’s natural curiosity and provide them with a platform from which they can then begin to see how the media affects our everyday lives, how we are shaped by significant cultural, social and political events, and most importantly to question and analyse information presented to them.
