BTEC double grades

BTEC and C'Tech double grades are printed differently on your statement of results. To help you understand the grades you have achieved, here is an equivalence table between the grades printed on your statement of results and the actual grades

D2 = Distinction* Distinction* (or two D*s)

D1 = Distinction* Distinction (or one D* and one D)

What do I do if I’m not happy with my child’s grade?

Review of Marking

Where a student is close to achieving the next grade up, Kingsmead School will identify this and request a review of marking on their behalf, free of charge. To process this, the student will be asked to sign a pre-completed form before leaving on results day.

Please note, all appeals against GCSE and A Level results must be made through the school. We strongly advise against raising appeals which have not been identified by Kingsmead School, as the review will almost certainly not result in a change of grade.

If you proceed with the appeal against the school’s advice, you will be charged the full exam board fee for the review (for example, AQA charge £ 55.60 per A Level paper/component), as well as a £20 administration charge to cover the school’s expenses.
