Curriculum Maps

A key aspect of learning at Kingsmead are Curriculum journeys through which students are able to connect and link new knowledge alongside their existing understanding.

We found students are highly engaged and inquisitive if they got to see and piece together the bigger picture. 

Staff and students use curriculum journeys throughout their studies, checkpoints in learning.

You will note that the main concepts in our subject curricular are deliberately spiralled.  Students get to reconnect with previous themes and to close any gaps of misunderstanding that develop.  They also delve even deeper into content.  This evidence-informed approach of interleaving supports longer term retention.
