Welcome to Kingsmead Sixth Form!

We are pleased that you are considering Kingsmead Sixth Form to continue your Post-16 education.

Our most recent Summer 2023 results saw 100% of applicants gaining places at top universities to study a wide range of subjects. Destinations and courses this year ranged from Cambridge to study History of Art, to Chemistry and Maths at Bristol University, Modern Foreign Languages at Bath, History at Warwick, Criminology at Liverpool University and Sport and Exercise Science at Loughborough. We also saw several of our pupils gain places on highly competitive Vocational courses including Speech and Language Therapy at Birmingham City University and Primary Teaching with QTS at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Though we will be there to support all of our Sixth Form pupils on their steps to ensure a successful future, we firmly believe there is more to life than academic studies in the final years of education at our high school. We aim to further develop our pupils with a firm focus on the RIME values that encapsulate our school – values of Resilience, Innovation, Mindfulness and Employability. Pupils will have a new personalised tutor throughout their time in Sixth Form with whom we believe a strong relationship is very important. This allows pupils – be it new pupils that have joined us or pupils continuing their journey with us – to settle in very quickly. Tutors will help to offer pastoral guidance and leadership opportunities as well as monitor academic targets alongside the Sixth Form Team.

We promise to help shape and secure futures with pupils that have become more confidence, passionate and ambitious in a family environment that we firmly believe Kingsmead provides.

We could not be prouder of our pupils and what they have achieved as a result of a fantastic year of examination results with an average A-Level grade B and Vocational grade Distinction*. This is why it has never been a better time to join us here at Kingsmead and we hope you will be as excited as we are to choose to continue your studies with us. We promise to provide you with a strong support network that will give you the scope to take responsibility, gain further independence, and focus on discovering where your future aspirations can take you.
