Kingsmead is proud to offer a truly unique learning environment that sets our school apart. Nestled within our school grounds is Kingsmead Farm, complemented by our dedicated Animal Management Centre, a specialist facility that brings learning to life in ways few classrooms can.

The Animal Management Centre is home to a fascinating range of animals, including bearded dragons, snakes, a tortoise, tarantulas and many more. This space plays an essential role in enriching our curriculum, providing students with meaningful, real-world learning experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and inspire a genuine love of learning.

Through hands-on interaction, students develop a deeper understanding of animal care, welfare and behaviour. Learning alongside living creatures encourages responsibility, empathy and patience, while also supporting engagement across a wide range of subjects. For many students, these experiences unlock interests and strengths that may not always emerge in a traditional classroom setting.

Our experienced and passionate Kingsmead Farm staff work closely with students, sharing their knowledge and expertise to support learning at every level. Whether exploring daily animal care routines, understanding habitats, or observing behaviour, students are guided to ask questions, investigate and discover.
