why study creative digital media production
Creative Media is an exciting and versatile course that gives students the opportunity to explore how media is created, consumed and used to communicate meaning. Throughout the course, students develop a broad understanding of different media texts, industries and audiences, while gaining practical experience in producing their own creative work.
Through practical projects, students can gain experience in areas such as film production, photography, graphic design, journalism, digital publishing and marketing. Creating their own media artefacts, such as magazines and short films, allows students to develop both their technical abilities and their own creative identity. Students will learn to plan, create and evaluate their work, developing confidence in using creative technologies and working to professional-style briefs and deadlines.
Creative Media can provide an excellent foundation for further study in a wide range of subjects, including Film Production, Journalism, Media, Marketing, Advertising and Digital Media. For students looking to enter the workplace, the skills developed can open pathways into careers such as film and television production, journalism, social media and digital marketing, graphic design, photography and much more.
